Metal singer apologizes after vandalizing Dimebag's grave

By Sherri "So Very" Crawford | Want to be the most hated man in Metal America? Sorry, that title's already been taken.

The award goes to Nuclear Hellfrost’s former lead singer, Reece Eber, who fessed up to defacing “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott's grave.

Since the incident, where Eber vandalized the Pantera guitarist's grave - professing his hate for the band (see photo left) on social media - he issued an apology. But the damage is done.

Pantera posted a screenshot of the deleted photo, which went viral. They also issued this statement via their Facebook page:

"We are absolutely disgusted by this! We ask that all of you please show Dime & his grave the respect he deserves. This conduct will not be tolerated and the authorities have been notified."

Meanwhile, Nuclear Hellfrost denied any involvement in the act by their band mate. They also took to social media to clear the air, with this statement:

Eber has removed his apology from the social media site, where he reiterated that he acted alone while committing the "dumbest possible delinquent act of my life." Hellfrost reposted the message, which reads in part below:
"There is NO reason for doing what I did, and when I say "I", I mean ME alone. My friends were not present for the event and should have caught up with them when they were walking away, instead i left a piece of paper with an insult to a man many people idolize and for a cheap laugh that I didn't think about the consequences....."
Dimebag was shot while performing onstage with his band Damageplan in 2004 in Ohio. Pantera disbanded in 2003.
